What does "JavaScript is not enabled" mean?

This website uses JavaScript, a feature in modern web browsers, to display photos in the Gallery, control playback of podcasts, and elsewhere.

If you see a yellow notice at the foot of the page stating that "JavaScript is not enabled", then your browser does not support JavaScript (or it has been disabled), and as such some interactive features of this website may not work as intended.
